Emu Plains to Western Sydney International

Emu Plains is at the foot of the Blue Mountains, across the Nepean River from Penrith. Western Sydney sits right on the new airport's doorstep, so for many households here WSI has replaced the long drive to Mascot.

The drive from Emu Plains to the WSI terminal at Luddenham covers about 26 km and takes around 25 min when traffic is light. Most trips from here run south along The Northern Road or the M7 and onto the M12 Motorway, a short run into the airport precinct.

Getting there without a car

Public transport options include the free WSI Link bus from St Marys Station, route 790 from Penrith and route 772 from Mount Druitt, generally running every 30 minutes from about 5am to 10pm. WSI runs without a curfew, so for late-night and early-morning flights, or for anyone travelling with a group and luggage, a pre-booked transfer is the simpler option.

Emu Plains to Sydney Airport

Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport at Mascot is about 61 km from Emu Plains, around 55 min off-peak. That makes WSI the closer airport by about 35 km, but many airlines and routes still fly only from Sydney Airport, so we cover both.
